Kindtoall Browser Extension Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy applies to the Kindtoall browser extension, including the Personal — My Kind experience, Fill With Kind, and the Work context available to authorized organization staff. The general Kindtoall Privacy Policy also applies to your Kindtoall account and related services.

Information from your Kindtoall account

After you sign in, the extension may retrieve information associated with your Kindtoall account, including Application Passport answers, profile and household information, application records, updates, opportunities, and documents you choose to store in your Evidence Wallet.

The extension uses the same Kindtoall account and backend records as the mobile application. It does not create a separate desktop Passport or separate desktop application history.

Active-page form scanning

Kindtoall does not continuously monitor your browsing activity. The extension requests temporary access to the active browser tab when you explicitly activate Scan This Page or another supported Fill With Kind action.

During that action, the extension may process form-field labels, field names, input types, placeholders, accessibility labels, and other information needed to understand supported fields on the selected page. This information is used to compare the selected form with your Passport and prepare a review screen.

Scan ≠ Fill ≠ Submit

Scanning identifies fields and possible Passport matches. It does not automatically place Passport information into the page.

Filling occurs only after you review the proposed values and approve the action. Filling does not submit the application. Kindtoall does not click a final submit button, accept a certification, or sign a form for you. You remain responsible for reviewing, correcting, completing, signing, and submitting the form.

PDF forms

When you explicitly scan a PDF, the extension may retrieve that document from its source to determine whether it contains supported fillable fields. Website credentials and cookies are not forwarded by Kindtoall when retrieving a public PDF for this purpose.

For a supported fillable PDF, processing occurs in the extension and Kindtoall may prepare a new completed copy for you to download. The extension does not automatically submit the PDF. Flat, scanned, protected, or unsupported documents may not be fillable and are identified as such.

Document uploads

If you upload a document through My Kind, the file and its metadata are stored in your Kindtoall Evidence Wallet using the same protected storage used by the mobile application. Uploaded documents may include identity, address, income, employment, housing, benefit, education, or other evidence that you choose to provide.

Authentication and local extension storage

The extension stores an authenticated Kindtoall session in extension-scoped browser storage so you can remain signed in. Signing out clears the Kindtoall session from the extension. Removing the extension removes its local extension storage from that browser profile.

Do not remain signed in on a shared or public computer. Downloaded forms and documents are stored wherever you choose on your device and are no longer controlled by the extension after download.

Personal and Work contexts

A resident account can use Personal — My Kind without belonging to an organization. Personal mode is designed to access only information owned by or made available to the signed-in resident.

Work mode requires an authenticated account, an active organization membership, and an authorized staff role. Organization permissions are enforced by backend access controls and row-level database policies, not only by hiding interface elements. Staff access does not grant unrestricted access to every resident or every Kindtoall record.

Browser permissions

The extension uses browser storage for its session and local preferences, activeTab and scripting for temporary user-initiated access to the selected page, and downloads to save a resident-approved completed PDF copy. It does not request persistent access to all websites.

The extension has permanent network access only to the Kindtoall Supabase backend used for authentication, database records, storage, and protected backend functions.

How information is used

Information is used to authenticate you, display and update your Passport, manage your Evidence Wallet, show application status and updates, compare supported forms with reusable answers, prepare resident-approved fills, provide authorized organization workflows, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability.

Sharing and external websites

Kindtoall does not sell personal information and does not use Passport, document, application, or active-page form information for targeted advertising.

When you choose to fill or submit information on an external website, that website and organization may receive the information placed into its form. The external organization’s privacy policy and practices apply to information you submit directly to it. Kindtoall does not control an external organization’s systems.

Retention, security, and your choices

Kindtoall retains account information as described in the general Privacy Policy and as needed to provide and secure the service, maintain authorized application and access records, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Extension-scoped session data remains until you sign out, remove the extension, or the browser clears it.

Kindtoall uses encrypted network connections, authentication, limited browser permissions, backend authorization, active organization membership checks, and row-level database policies. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

You control whether to sign in, upload documents, scan a page, approve proposed values, fill a form, download a PDF copy, switch to Work mode, or submit information to an external organization.

We may update this extension policy as features, permissions, or practices change. The effective date on this page will be updated when revisions are published.
